AIG appoints new China Insurance CEO

American international group poached from rival Mercer in appointing a new leader executive officer for its chinese insurance unit.

based totally in Shanghai, Lisa sun takes on the new role, changing Eric Zheng who's leaving AIG after 14 years to pursue different opportunities, the corporation stated in a statement on Friday. In her new position, sun will report to Chris Townsend, chief executive officer, international general insurance.

sun joins AIG from Mercer in which she became leader executive of Mercer’s Hong Kong and South and East Asia vicinity. Her appointment is subject to regulatory approval by the China Banking and insurance Regulatory commission.
